French Montana

French Montana, the stage name of Karim Kharbouch, is a Moroccan-born, Bronx-raised rapper and filmmaker. He rose to fame in the 2000s New York mixtape scene, and in the 2010s became a pop-influenced hip-hop artist. Montana is the most-streamed African-born artist. Born in Morocco, he moved to New York City with his family at age 13 and started his career as a battle rapper in the early 2000s. He established his own indie empire with the Cocaine City imprint.
